Ready to put on your red shoes and explore your creativity? Have something you want to say but not quite sure how to say it? The Book Babas have a few options available for you. Sunday, February 24th, we kick it off with a 1-day workshop at Fort Calgary for those of you who already have a book idea to flesh out. Whether it’s a self-help book, a memoir or a novel, we’ll get you organized so you can bring that project to completion. A delicious lunch is included. You can sign up through Eventbrite.
After that, to keep you accountable with your new writing practice, whether you started something at our 1-day event or already had a project going, you can join our 8-week online writing circle where you’ll get weekly support on your submission from all your classmates and coaching from two seasoned writers and coaches: The Book Babas.
And if you’re more interested in just dabbling in some writing and making a mess with a variety of art supplies, you can start spring with a new journal and our Creative Journaling class. Based loosely on The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, this mixed media class will have you exploring your creativity in a supportive environment. Whether you’re new to art or journaling, a seasoned writer or artist working through a project (or just taking a break), or someone who wants to use creative expression as a means of healing through issues, this class has something for everyone. We will explore different themes and ways of expressing them; we’re not looking for perfect products; we’re looking to have some fun and learn something new. You supply the journal (but you may want to wait until after the first class to decide what kind). All other supplies are included. No experience necessary. You can find the details here.
